I have been sitting here for about ten minutes. The kids are in bed for their naps. As I was sitting here I realized I was hearing a noise. A bumping thumping sort of noise. Then I realized it had been going on a little while. As many of you know we recently moved into the land of the big boy bed. I think I know what this noise is. I also know what it is not. It is not Mark fulfilling the task he was sent up there to accomplish. I am going to go have a word with a certain three year old boy.
Just thought you might like to know. I like to keep you up to date with our daily events.

The First Night
I know you all got up this morning and immediately checked my blog to see how our first night went. Sorry to disappoint. I should have been up at 5 to inform all of my faithful readers of the news of the first night in the big boy bed.
Last night went really well. Mark got right into his big bed last night and went almost right to sleep. There were no nocturnal activities and he was still in bed when we went in this morning to get him. He is such a big boy.
I think it helped that we wore him down to a tiny little frazzle yesterday. He skipped his nap because we were out and about all day.
Here are a few pictures of our events yesterday.
Mark really thought it was neat to have a new bed. He got right up in it when we took him upstairs the first time. (Incidentally, we did buy him sheets for it yesterday too. We just didn't have them on there when we took this picture.

I didn't mention it before but Anna also got a new bed yesterday. No longer does she have to sleep in a pack and play. She gets a big girl bed.
She really seemed to like it. She went right to sleep last night too. OK, so there was a little crying but nothing we couldn't handle.
My parents came up over the weekend. We had a lovely time. Yesterday, we decided to have an outing. We started driving the general direction of Lake Ontario. We found a cute little park and had a wonderful picnic next to the water. It was great fun.

Mark's bear, Brett, had a bath yesterday. I thought he looked to cute hanging on the line. I just had to take a picture.
I hope your yesterday was this much fun.

The Big Boy Bed
I am sure you are thinking to yourself, "Isn't that kid already in a big boy bed?" Well, no he isn't. But he will be by Saturday. I admit we have been putting it off for quite a while. Mark has never tried to climb out so we didn't see any harm in leaving him in it. And besides, it's nice to know that when I put him in his crib he will be there when I go back to get him. After Saturday, though, that will be no more. I think this is going to be kind of a hard transition for him. I don't think he will have trouble with falling out. I think he is going to get out on his own. Listening to his parents is not something that comes easily to Mark. I think we are going to have much gnashing of teeth for a couple of weeks or years. You see why we have been putting it off.
Anyway, all of that for this. Yesterday we went shopping and got Mark a big boy bed. It will be delivered Saturday. It is such a cute bed and will last him for years and years.
Here is a pictures of it. Can you just imagine him putting his cute little head on the pillow and dreaming little boy dreams. I know, I can't either. He is going to be playing with his toys and coming downstairs bothering me. Never mind, I am calling the whole thing off. He can sleep in his crib until high school. Hang on, I am calling the store and canceling the delivery......You thought I really was going to do it didn't you. No, we are tough and we will get through it together.

Wish us luck and many prayers.
