She Was a Lion in a Previous Life

So don't mess with her.

In other news: Both the kids have raging colds. Trust me, you don't want pictures of that. Whenever Anna's nose is running she comes and tells me. She points to her nose and says snot. Only she doesn't say her Ss very well. So it comes out as 'not.(And because we are from up north, you have to say it through your nose. Go ahead try it. It's fun.) It almost makes it worth having the plague descend upon our house.....AGAIN!!!

Cat Abuse

Tux knows when Daisy has this look in her eye it is bad for cats.

It is only a matter of time before this happens.
It is the only fun Daisy gets to have in her life. Existence with little kids isn't easy.
The cat totally deserves it too. We don't call him the worlds most irritating cat for nothing. He earned it.

A Story

See this dog.

Let me tell you a little story about this dog. You see this dog has a history; a past if you will. She is not very bright. In fact she is down right dumb. In the past we have been able to keep her out of trouble. A quick jerk of the leash here, a strong word there. It wasn't easy but we did it because we are her people.
Last night, Jason went outside to let her in for dinner. He called. Nothing. He called again. Nothing. By now I had come to the door too. I called. Nothing. I told him she might have gotten her lead caught around something. He went down the stairs to investigate. He pulled her lead. It came easy. She wasn't on it. He pulled in her lead with her collar still attached. I panicked. She wasn't there. I rushed back in and got a flashlight and a leash and headed out into the night. I called loud. Nothing. Again. Nothing. Then I heard something. I turned and she was racing for me. Relief filled me. She is a a good dog. I didn't want her hit by a car or anything. You remember, she isn't that bright. I walked her up on the porch and the smell hit me. BAD! BAD! BAD! smell. Skunk but worse. So bad. We took her to the mud room to regroup. I did a quick google search and found this recipe. I mixed. I bathed. I rinsed. I smelled. Still stinky. Not as bad but still there. I am out of ingredients. This morning I am off the the drug store to buy more peroxide. For now she is in her crate in the basement. It stinks down there. Sorry Daisy. You dumb mutt.

BTW, does anyone know of any skunk smell remover besides the old tomato juice trick? The google gods say is doesn't work.

Don't forget about my project for this month. For each and every person who visits my site this month I am giving one nickel to Food For the Poor. Tell everyone you come across to come and spend my money. Thanks for your help.

Daisy

Side Note: Yesterday went pretty well. It is always easier with Jason here. But Mark did really well comparatively. I know you were up all night wondering.

While lying in bed the other night waiting for sleep to find me I realized I have done not one not two but three posts about a fish. And I haven't done one post about my dear dog. Isn't that sad. Well here we go. This is Daisy. She is the best dog ever.

She really doesn't like having her picture taken.

She would really like me to stop now but I told her to stay put so she will. But she doesn't have to like it. She is a good dog.
Now this is a little more like it.

This is the face she makes when I rub her tummy. She doesn't care anymore that I am taking her picture so long as I don't stop moving my hand. Sometimes when she really likes it, she sticks her tongue out a little. She has two little black dots on her tongue that you can only see when she yawns. It looks like you put a little dot of black ink on one side of her tongue and squished it together. I didn't though. That is just what it looks like. Thought you might like to know that little factoid about my dog.

Jeesh! More picture taking. We have had this little jem for about four years. I went to Pet Smart for cat food and came home with a dog. Tux (the cat) was so happy. She is wonderful with the kids. Patience is her number one attribute. She does have a teeny tiny little bitty smidgen of a problem with other dogs. She is really sorry later though. Really really really sorry.

This is the best though. A walk with mom. And no pesky children around. Life doesn't get better. I wish we were all as easy to please as this dog.
