See his foot slipping. 1/2 a second later he was laying on the ground looking up at the feeder. The feeder laughs at him. I laugh at him. You see how this would affect a guy's ego.
But every single day he comes back for a another try. So why are southern/country squirrels smarter? This same feeder never got to laugh at the Virginia squirrels. It took them about 5 minutes to figure out how to defeat it. Then they went and told all their little squirrel friends. They taught about it in squirrel kindergarten.
Maybe we don't have squirrel school here. Our squirrels are ignorant. For that I am glad. They can sure eat a lot of bird seed.

The McD thing: I think what would satisfy me now is the same thing that would have satisfied me initially - a sincere apology. Now from both the manager AND the supervisor who's blowing me off.
I wonder how it would stand up to a bear? Or whatever it was that ripped mine off the tree?
LOL! ... just getting caught up on many of your blog posts. Most enjoyable lunchtime I've had in awhile! The story about Anna and the mushrooms is too funny! I told you those soccer games would be hoot! And stones in the water..... you probably already know .... that's just what boys do .... a DNA thing!
.... and I'm hoping to get one of those squirrel feeders soon. I have just the spot .... by my front porch sitting area, near the flowers. Let me know if you know where I can get one reasonable.

D-You have bears. We are coming in two short weeks to camp out in your front yard. And you have BEARS!! That's it. We're staying home.
Cm-My parents got mine for me a couple of years ago at Lowes I believe. I would go with one like the one Mom has if I had it to do over. Mine is squirrel resistent. Hers is squirrel proof. Hers is much deeper. The squirrls can't lean over the top and get at the seed like mine. It's only a matter of time before these NY squirrels figure that out. I don't know where she got it though. You would have to ask her.
