I Have Best Job in The World

This is not a statement I make lightly. I have had some pretty fantastic jobs in my life.
My first job was as a camp counselor at a small Bible camp in upstate NY. It was an incredibly rewarding job. I watched kids grow and mature from one year to the next. I have maintained a relationship some of the families I came to know over the years. It was a sad day when camp started and I could no longer be there.
I served for almost eight years in our nation's military. I loved it. I went places and did things I never would have been able to do otherwise. I saw some of the things our country is doing around the world to improve the lives of others. I also saw some things that made me truly glad to be an American. I will never take our freedom for granted. Though I know longer am associated with the Air Force directly, I fully support the things we are doing around the world to ensure freedom for my children and my children's children. I thank every one our service members past, present and future.
All of that was leading up to my title. I have had some really great jobs in my life. But not one of them was as good that the job I currently have. I am Stay At Home Mom extraordinaire. I love every minute of it. It is far and away the most fun job of my life. Don't get me wrong, it isn't all pickles and ice cream here. I never thought there would be this much poop in parenting...heck I never thought about poop period before we had kids. We do yell. We have mad time outs. We even occasionally spank. It isn't fun but it is part of being a parent. But in between the yelling and the time outs, we have the most fun. Mark and Anna are two the the funniest people I have ever met.
They are growing way too fast. I really can't believe we have had Anna for a year already. Just a year ago I could hold her comfortably in one arm. Now she is a handful for two. She has her own thoughts and ideas about how the world should be run and look out if you aren't paying attention.
I can't believe how fast Mark is growing into a kid instead of a toddler. Gone are the little fat rolls of babyhood. Now he is long and lean and so handsome. He is quickly turning into a little man.
I can't believe how much I love them both. Again, I have the best job. Every day I get to wake them up and the day stretches out in front of us. We plan our day together. Quite frankly we thrive on monotony. Every day is pretty much the same. Some days I love nap time and can't wait for it to start. Other days, I don't want to put them to bed because we are having so much fun and I don't want it to end.
Now I must give credit where it is due. I wouldn't have the life I have if not for the very special man I married. He works so I don't have to. Thank you, dear. I love you more than you know.
I am thankful today if you can't tell. I would love to hear what you are thankful for.

I am thankful for the time I was able to spend as a stay at home mom. I'll never regret the time I spent out of the workforce when my children were young. Enjoy every minute because before you can blink you'll be taking them to college.
